Reviews

Based on reviews in Google, the Golf Academy of America’s San Diego campus received very mixed feedback during its operation. It’s important to note that all Golf Academy of America campuses ceased operations in December 2018. The following summary reflects historical student opinions from before the school’s closure.

Overall Score: 4.1/5 Stars

Common Praises

Knowledgeable Instructors: Many students praised the instructors for being experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate about teaching. They felt the faculty wanted students to succeed and provided them with the skills to do so.

Industry and Business Focus: Reviewers appreciated that the curriculum went beyond the game itself, focusing on the business and technology aspects of the golf industry.

Networking and Social Opportunities: The campus was seen as a great place to meet new people, make friends, and build connections that could be helpful for a future career in the industry.

Common Criticisms

Lack of Industry Respect: This was a significant concern for some. A few reviews claimed that a degree from the school was not well-regarded within the professional golf industry, with some stating that employers “LAUGH” at the school.

Questionable Value for Money: One reviewer called the school a “waste of money,” arguing that the degree would only lead to low-paying jobs and that the experience was more like a “golf camp” than a true college.

Momentum

All reviews are from 2018 or earlier. The provided feedback reflects a historical snapshot of a school that is no longer operational. The conflicting reviews suggest that while some students had a very positive experience, others felt the school lacked the professional reputation and value to justify the cost.
