What Is It Known For?
Kootenai Technical Education Campus (KTEC) opened in August 2012 through a collaborative effort between the Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, and Lakeland school districts, along with local business leaders. This specialized high school program serves juniors and seniors from area public schools, though homeschooled and private school students can also attend by enrolling for three periods with one of the local partner high schools.
While there are no specific enrollment numbers, KTEC was originally designed to accommodate 800 to 900 students across three daily sessions. The campus allows students to earn high school credit while learning technical, professional, and employability skills that prepare them for careers and college.
