An IT-only school with nine campuses and live online classes
MyComputerCareer (MCC) is a private, for-profit school that teaches information technology and nothing else. It was founded in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2007 and now has nine campuses in North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Indiana and Nevada, plus live online classes. Its programs are built around industry certification exams from CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco and EC-Council, and its Cyber Warrior Program is designed for service members leaving the military. The campuses are grouped under three federal-aid institutions, based in Raleigh, Columbus and Indianapolis. The school says it had 4,308 graduates in 2025. Its founding CEO stepped down in March 2025, and the school’s president took over. MCC’s TechSkills division sells individual IT courses, which are not credential programs.

Hours and course names come from MCC’s Nevada catalog of September 2025; prices and certification lists come from the program pages as they stood on 15 October 2026. CSS and CSE are advanced programs: CSS expects ITSA or equivalent experience, and CSE expects CSS or equivalent. The catalog says no MCC program requires state licensure.
What the main programs cover
IT Security & Administration (ITSA)
ITSA is the entry program and the first leg of the associate degree. The Nevada catalog lists six courses: Computer & Security Essentials, Networking I, Operating Systems I, Server I, Networking & Security I and Security I, for 720 clock hours or 45 quarter credits over about 30 weeks. The program page adds artificial intelligence, cloud, Python and Linux topics. Classes meet two or three days or evenings a week, and test vouchers for the certification exams are included in the price.
Cyber Warrior Program (CWP)
CWP is aimed at service members moving into civilian work and is eligible for the Defense Department’s SkillBridge program. Its 480 clock hours cover Networking Concepts, Computer & Security Concepts and Security I to III. The day version finishes in 12 weeks; evening students take 19 or 24 weeks. It prepares for up to four CompTIA certifications, A+, Network+, Security+ and CySA+, which the school lists under the Defense Department’s 8140 standard. The 12-week online version is run through the Columbus and Dallas campuses.
Cyber Security Specialist (CSS)
CSS is 720 clock hours, or 45 quarter credits, over about 30 weeks, and is meant for students who have finished ITSA or already work in IT. It prepares for CompTIA Network+, Security+ and CySA+, Cisco CCNA, EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker and Linux Essentials, adding security analysis (CySA+) and ethical hacking (CEH) to the networking base. A fully online version is run from the Indianapolis campus. The Houston and Sugar Land campuses do not list it.
Cyber Security Engineer (CSE)
CSE is the most advanced program below the associate degree and expects CSS or equivalent experience. It takes 30 to 42 weeks part-time; the Nevada catalog’s evening schedule is two nights a week from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., plus a two-hour learning lab. Its certification list covers Cisco CCNA and CyberOps Associate, CompTIA CySA+ and SecurityX, EC-Council CEH and CertNexus CFR. Like CSS, it is not listed at the two Houston-area campuses.
AAS in Network Administration and Cyber Security
The associate degree packages the three main programs, ITSA, CSS and CSE, with five general-education courses: Introduction to Communications, American Government, Business Math, Introduction to Psychology and English Composition I. Classes meet two nights a week; the Nevada catalog’s evening sessions run from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. The program page prices the whole pathway at $50,087. Graduates of earlier MCC certificates with 72 credits who enroll after 1 January 2025 can have the general-education courses covered by the school’s Alumni General Education Grant.
Cost: one list price per program
MCC charges one list price per program, with no in-state or out-of-state rates, and we found no dated 2026-27 price sheet. On 15 October 2026 the program pages listed ITSA at $21,097, the Cyber Warrior Program at $23,805 for the 12-week day version and $24,805 for the evening versions, CSS and CSE at $26,305 each, and the full associate degree pathway at $50,087. The school says the price covers live instruction, coaching, certification preparation and lifetime career services; ITSA includes exam vouchers. No textbooks are required, and a laptop is optional at $550, non-refundable.
Federal aid and military benefits
Every program except the Cyber Warrior Program is eligible for federal Pell Grants and Direct Loans. At the Indianapolis institution in 2023-24, 85% of full-time beginning students received aid, 73% received Pell Grants and 78% took federal loans, and 613 students used the Post-9/11 GI Bill, according to College Navigator; Indianapolis also takes part in the Yellow Ribbon program. MCC accepts the GI Bill and Veteran Readiness and Employment, and Cyber Warrior students can attend through SkillBridge before they leave the service. The school says it has been named Military Friendly six years in a row, through 2025.
Admissions and class schedule
- A high school diploma, GED or college degree, and a minimum age of 17; applicants under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign.
- A government-issued ID and an admissions meeting.
- An internet speed test (2 MB up and down).
- For CSS and CSE, earlier IT training, certifications or experience.
New classes start about every five weeks. Classes run Monday to Thursday, with morning and evening options; live online students attend scheduled classes for 8 to 16 hours a week rather than working self-paced. To graduate, students need a 70% cumulative grade, at least 60% in each course and 80% attendance. Transfer credit can cover no more than half of a program.
Live online classes are open to students in every state except California, plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, under the school’s NC-SARA participation. Online students get the same career services as campus students.
ACCET accreditation and state licenses
MCC is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), a national accreditor. ACCET reaccredited the Raleigh institution for three years at its August 2026 meeting, according to the commission’s final actions memo; the memo does not list branch campuses. The Indianapolis institution has been accredited since December 2006, with its next review due in December 2027. Ask the school which ACCET-accredited institution your campus belongs to and confirm its current status before you enroll. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes ACCET; it does not accredit schools itself.
State approvals: North Carolina campuses are licensed by the NC State Board of Community Colleges, Texas campuses are approved by the Texas Workforce Commission, Columbus is registered with the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools (12-03-1987T), Indianapolis is authorized by the Indiana Board for Proprietary Education, and the Nellis campus is licensed by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education.
Graduation rates and what MCC publishes
MCC does not post its ACCET completion and placement rates online; its disclosures page says paper copies are available on request, so ask for them for your program and campus. Federal IPEDS data give graduation rates within 150% of normal time for full-time, first-time students at the three institutions:

The Indianapolis figure is from College Navigator; the Raleigh and Columbus figures are IPEDS data as published by Data USA, which does not state the cohort year or definition precisely. Branch campuses report under these three institutions. MCC publishes no certification exam pass rates.
Before you enroll
- The Cyber Warrior Program is not eligible for federal student aid. Its program page names the GI Bill, Veteran Readiness and Employment and SkillBridge as ways to pay.
- Not every campus teaches every program. Houston and Sugar Land do not list CSS or CSE, and the Nellis campus is open only to people with base access.
- Completion and job-placement rates are not online. Ask for the paper copies before signing, and compare them with the federal graduation rates above.
- Enrollment includes an arbitration agreement; read it before you sign.
- In November 2024, ahead of the Columbus and Indianapolis reaccreditation reviews, the advocacy group Veterans Education Success wrote to ACCET about student allegations of deceptive recruiting of veterans and unclear disclosure of how many students earn certifications. The allegations are unproven, and we found no lawsuits or state actions from 2023 to 2026.

The school’s corporate headquarters and its Apex, North Carolina office hold no classes, so they are not listed as campuses. Live Online is a way of taking classes, not a separate campus. Columbus moved to Easton Way and Charlotte is now in Suite 115; the old Purdue Road address in Indianapolis is no longer used.
Career help
Lifetime career services are included in every program’s price and are open to online students. The school says students and graduates sent more than 11,000 résumés through career services in 2025, but it publishes no placement rate online. MCC offers no student housing.
