What Is It Known For?
Alvin Community College has served Texas students since voters approved its creation back in 1948. Classes kicked off in 1949 with just 134 students meeting in Alvin High School facilities.
The college shared space with Alvin High School before moving to its own campus in 1963. Over the years, ACC expanded its programs, faculty, and facilities, earning accreditation in 1959. Today, the college enrolls nearly 6,000 students each year and continues to serve as a leading center for education and career training in the Alvin area.
