What Is It Known For?
With more than 200 learners moving through its programs each year, Bradford College of Nursing has built a long-standing presence in its community.
Its story began in 1996, when the original school opened a small nursing assistant class taught by a single instructor. That early effort grew steadily, and over the decades thousands have trained there as Certified Nursing Assistants.
Today, the school continues that same steady drive for quality health education and now offers San Joaquin County’s only Emergency Medical Technician program.
Degrees & Certifications
At Bradford College of Nursing, students earn Certificates of Completion for the following short-term healthcare programs:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): (160 hours)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): (184 hours)
- Home Health Aide (HHA): (40 hours)
- Medical Assistant (MA): (920 hours including externship)
For HHA students, training alone qualifies them for state recognition. Once they finish the course, the school sends their names to the Department of Public Health Services so the state certificate can be issued.
Class Schedules
Because people often juggle school with work or family, the college offers both day and evening classes. Sessions run Monday through Friday from either 9:00am to 5:30pm or 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Weekend options are available as well, with classes held from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
For the Medical Assistant program, externships begin only after students finish the classroom and clinical portions, settle all tuition requirements, and when placement sites have room.
The school does not provide online instruction at the moment.

Yes. The Bradford College of Nursing operates as a private institution approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). Its Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide programs also carry approval from the California Department of Health Services.
