CDA Technical Institute has closed
CDA Technical Institute, a commercial diving school in Jacksonville, Florida, is no longer operating. In 2022 it lost GI Bill approval, its memberships in the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) and IMCA following student deaths, and then its institutional accreditation from ACCET in September 2022. By June 2023 local news reported that the school had closed and its Trout River campus was empty.
If you were a student
- Transcripts and records: CDA Technical Institute appears on the Florida Commission for Independent Education’s list of schools whose records it can help locate.
- Federal student loans: if you were enrolled when the school closed, or left shortly before it closed, you may qualify for a closed school discharge of your federal loans. Students who finished their program or transferred credits to a comparable program elsewhere usually do not qualify.
