Concorde’s Florida campuses
Concorde Career Institute is the name Concorde Career Colleges uses for its five Florida campuses. Concorde as a whole has 17 campuses in 8 states plus online programs; campuses that grant degrees are called Concorde Career College where state rules allow, but all the Florida campuses use the Institute name, even though they award associate degrees. Universal Technical Institute bought Concorde for $50 million in December 2022. Since then the Florida campuses have grown: dental hygiene was added at Jacksonville and both sonography programs at Orlando in December 2023, Fort Myers opened in 2025 as a branch of Tampa built with Heartland Dental, and Concorde’s June 2026 launch of 12 new programs included Florida campuses (it did not say which).
Programs at the five Florida campuses
Every Florida campus teaches dental hygiene, dental assisting, medical assisting and phlebotomy; Fort Myers teaches only those four. Lengths are Concorde’s “as few as” figures. Concorde’s Florida tuition sheets are published only as images, so no program prices are quoted here; see the cost section.

Four of the Florida campus pages (all but Fort Myers) also list Concorde’s Medical Office Administration diploma, but it is taught fully online from Concorde’s Kansas City campus.
What the main programs cover
Dental Hygiene
Dental hygiene runs 17 to 26 months depending on the campus and is CODA-accredited at every Concorde campus that offers it; Fort Myers operates as a satellite of Tampa’s program. Most of the hands-on training is clinic-based. The fee for the NBDHE written board exam is included in tuition, and graduates also need a state or regional clinical exam for licensure. Heartland Dental funds a dental hygiene scholarship at Concorde.
Dental Assisting
The 9-month diploma is approved by Florida’s Board of Dentistry for expanded duties and dental radiology. Students study online and in campus labs, then complete an unpaid externship. The program is not CODA-accredited. In Concorde’s Kansas City catalog, dental assisting admits applicants first come, first served once they reach a Wonderlic score of 8; ask your Florida campus whether its rules match.
Diagnostic Medical and Cardiovascular Sonography
Diagnostic Medical Sonography is an associate degree of 20 to 21 months and 84.5 credits, with 300 lab hours on campus plus off-site clinicals; it prepares students for ARDMS exams. Cardiovascular Sonography takes 21 months with 330 lab hours. In Florida only the Jacksonville and Tampa DMS programs list CAAHEP accreditation, and none of the cardiovascular programs do. Orlando added both programs in December 2023.
Respiratory Therapy
The 17-month AAS includes 900 clinical hours on top of online coursework and labs. Every Concorde respiratory therapy program is CoARC-accredited, and graduates take the NBRC’s Therapist Multiple-Choice exam and Clinical Simulation Exam to earn the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Jacksonville, Miramar and Tampa teach it. In Concorde’s Kansas City catalog, places in programs like this are filled from a waitlist ranked by entrance-test scores and interview.
Surgical Technology
The 17-month associate degree includes 570 clinical hours. Concorde lists ABHES as the programmatic accreditor and does not claim CAAHEP accreditation. Surgical technologists who already hold the CST credential can finish the degree through an online completion option. Four Florida campuses teach it; Fort Myers does not. Under Concorde’s Kansas City catalog, students must be 18 by the time clinicals begin and pay for a background check before clinical placement.
Cost and paying for it
Concorde publishes each campus’s tuition sheet only as an image, so we have not quoted Florida program prices; ask admissions for the current sheet for your campus and program. Federal data shown on Niche (checked October 2026) give net prices per year of about $24,600 at Jacksonville, $26,500 at Tampa, $27,800 at Miramar and $35,700 at Orlando. Across Concorde, UTI’s annual report gives program tuition of about $1,000 to $99,000.
Concorde takes federal aid (Pell Grants, Direct Loans and Parent PLUS). 68% of its active students also use Concorde’s own retail installment contracts, which carry 0% interest while the student attends, and 16% receive Concorde-funded grants or scholarships. Named awards include the automatic Healthcare Demand Grant, First Responder, High School Senior and Alumni grants, and Heartland Dental Hygiene, Pacific Dental Services dental assisting and FAPSC scholarships; the scholarships page does not list amounts. Military students can use the GI Bill (chapters 30, 33 and 35), VR&E, Yellow Ribbon, Tuition Assistance and MyCAA, and at some campuses military spouses and dependents up to age 24 get $1,000 off with registration fees waived.
Admissions and schedule
We could read only Concorde’s Kansas City catalog in full, so check these requirements with your Florida campus. Kansas City requires a high school diploma or GED (or an associate degree or 60 college credits), an interview, proof of citizenship or permanent residency and a minimum age of 18 by the start of clinicals or externship. Every applicant takes the Wonderlic SLE, and some programs add the HESI A2. Dental and medical assisting admit applicants first come, first served; other programs rank a waitlist by test scores and interview. Background checks are required for clinical placement, not for admission. Programs are blended, with theory online and labs and clinicals in person.
Accreditation and results
All five Florida campuses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); ACCSC approved Fort Myers as a branch of Tampa in March 2025. Programmatic accreditation differs by program: CODA for dental hygiene, CoARC for respiratory therapy, CAPTE for physical therapist assistant, ASHP for pharmacy technician, ABHES for surgical technology, and CAAHEP for diagnostic medical sonography at Jacksonville and Tampa only. ACCSC named Orlando a School of Excellence for 2022–23.
Concorde takes part in federal aid, but since the 2022 sale all its institutions hold provisional program participation agreements, which is standard after a change of ownership; its three-year federal loan default rate was 0% for fiscal years 2020–22. Federal graduation rates shown on Niche (institution-level figures, checked October 2026) are 47% for Jacksonville and 69% for Orlando; we did not find figures for Tampa or Miramar. In February 2024 the Department of Education sent UTI about 2,500 borrower-defense claims from former Concorde students, all about attendance before the 2022 sale; UTI says it responded to every one.
Externships, employers and career help
Most programs end in an externship or clinical rotations. Concorde’s Kansas City catalog describes a graduate employment service offering résumé review, interview practice and job matching, and states that Concorde does not guarantee employment; ask your Florida campus what it provides. Dental students in southwest Florida have a direct employer link: Heartland Dental paid for the Fort Myers campus building and equipment, funds scholarships and had hired 325 Concorde dental hygiene graduates by August 2024.
Before you enroll
- Check your campus’s program list. Fort Myers teaches only four programs, nursing is offered only at Jacksonville, and radiologic technology and respiratory therapy are each at three campuses.
- Ask what credential Jacksonville’s pre-licensure nursing program awards. We could not confirm whether it is an associate degree or a BSN.
- Ask about programmatic accreditation. Only two Florida sonography programs list CAAHEP accreditation, and none of the Florida radiologic technology programs lists JRCERT accreditation.
- Get your campus’s tuition sheet in writing. Most Concorde students pay partly through Concorde’s own installment contracts; read the terms, including what applies after you leave school.
- Concorde Career Institute and Concorde Career College are the same company. Reviews, rankings and older listings may mix the two names or describe campuses in other states.
What students say
On Niche (checked October 2026), three Florida campus pages are confirmed to have 25 or more reviews: Jacksonville (3.82 out of 5, 97 reviews), Tampa (4.38, 71) and Orlando (4.46, 50), about 4.1 on average across 218 reviews. Miramar’s review count was not available and Fort Myers is not included. Many Concorde reviews name individual admissions staff.
- Praised: supportive admissions and financial aid staff and success coaches, small classes, hands-on labs and clinicals, and helpful career services.
- Criticized: at Jacksonville, too much online coursework, disorganized administration and weak support with clinical placements; across campuses, the cost.
