Since August 1989, Dudley Beauty College has been training beauty professionals in Washington, D.C.

Dudley Enterprises, LLC owns and governs the college. Mr. Alfred Dudley Sr. serves as President, while Mrs. Melanie Dudley-McClain works as Executive Director. Both help beauty entrepreneurs and students reach their goals.

The teaching staff brings more than 50 years of combined experience to the classroom. With an open, rolling admissions process, the college manages student intake based on available space rather than setting fixed enrollment caps. Average class sizes hover around 25 students per instructor.

Class Schedules

Dudley Beauty College uses an in-class learning model that gives students hands-on experience. To supplement this approach, the school uses Pivot Point LAB (Learn About Beauty), an online platform built specifically for beauty industry learners and educators. Hybrid options let you combine both methods.

Full-time students attend Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Part-time schedules run Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to either 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. Saturday classes are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening classes meet Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Full-time students clock six hours daily for four days plus eight hours for one day each week (32hrs weekly). Part-time students attend four hours per day for three to four days and eight hours for one day per week ( 20 to 24 hrs weekly).

Clinical externships are not part of the curriculum.

Is It a Good School?

Yes. The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences has accredited Dudley Beauty College. The District of Columbia Higher Education Licensure Commission has also licensed the institution.
