Eastwick College and the HoHoKus School: one group, two schools
Eastwick College is a private, for-profit career college with three New Jersey campuses, in Ramsey, Hackensack and Nutley, focused on nursing and allied health, with funeral service, business, IT and HVACR programs. The fourth campus, in Paterson, belongs to its sister school, the HoHoKus School of Trade and Technical Sciences: a separately accredited school in the same group that teaches only trade diplomas, such as electrician, plumber and welding.
The biggest recent change is accreditation. On 25 June 2026 the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), a regional accreditor, granted Eastwick College accreditation, retroactive to 16 November 2023, after candidate status from November 2024. Eastwick keeps its ACCSC accreditation. Its RN nursing degrees are bridges: they admit only students who already hold an LPN licence.
Programs at Eastwick College and the HoHoKus School
The table shows the main programs. Costs are the totals listed on New Jersey’s training provider list (undated) for one campus, or the HoHoKus School’s tuition schedule effective September 2022; we found no 2026-27 Eastwick tuition schedule. An asterisk marks Nutley nursing programs whose New Jersey Board of Nursing approval was not confirmed.

Programmatic accreditation: CAAHEP for Surgical Technology (Ramsey) and Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography (Ramsey and Nutley), and the American Board of Funeral Service Education for Funeral Service (Hackensack). The New Jersey Board of Nursing approves the practical nursing and LPN-to-RN programs at Ramsey and Hackensack and has provisionally accredited the LPN-to-BSN there. Eastwick’s accreditation list names CAAHEP only for the cardiovascular AAS, not for the two sonography bachelor’s degrees.
Eastwick also teaches an AAS in Health Science with Pharmacy Technician at all three campuses, an AAS in Health Information Technology and an AAS in Technical Studies at Nutley. The Occupational Therapy Assistant AAS at Ramsey is not admitting students; its ACOTE status was probation-inactive as of December 2025, according to Eastwick’s accreditation list. Eastwick’s website still shows an AAS in Culinary Arts at Hackensack, but we could not find it in the 2025-26 catalog’s degree list, so ask before applying. There are no dental assistant or physical therapist assistant programs.
What the main programs cover
Licensed Practical Nursing
The LPN diploma takes 18 months by day or 21 months in the evening and prepares students for the NCLEX-PN licensing exam. Applicants need a high-school diploma or GED, an ATI TEAS composite score of at least 58.7, a background check and health clearance. The program is approved by the New Jersey Board of Nursing at Ramsey and Hackensack, and Hackensack also runs a bilingual version. Eastwick lists the program at Nutley too, but the Nutley program does not appear in the board approval statements we checked and has no rows in the Jan–Sep 2025 state NCLEX reports.
LPN-to-RN and LPN-to-BSN bridges
Both nursing degrees start from an LPN licence. The AAS in Nursing takes 18 months, by day or evening; the BS in Nursing takes 30 months. Applicants need a current, unencumbered LPN licence, an LPN GPA of 3.25, an ATI Fundamentals Level 2 score, immunisations, a 10-panel drug screen, a background check and liability insurance. Both lead to the NCLEX-RN. The New Jersey Board of Nursing accredits the AAS at Ramsey and Hackensack and has given the BS provisional accreditation there.
Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography
The AAS runs 24 months by day or 27 in the evening at Ramsey and Nutley and is accredited by CAAHEP on the recommendation of the JRC-CVT. Students choose a cardiovascular technology track or a noninvasive vascular track, which lead to the CCI exams (RCS, RVS) and the ARDMS exams (RDCS, RVT). Ramsey also offers a BS in the same field and a BS in OB/GYN Diagnostic Medical Sonography, 39 months by day or 51 in the evening, aimed at the ARDMS OB/GYN exam.
Funeral Service
The AAS in Funeral Service is taught at Hackensack only, over 24 months by day or 27 months in the evening, and is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. It prepares students for the two parts of the National Board Exam, Arts and Sciences, and for a New Jersey funeral licence under N.J.A.C. 13:36-3.1. First-time pass rates in 2025 were well below the national figures, especially in the Sciences section, so ask the school for its latest results.
Electrician and plumber apprenticeship diplomas (HoHoKus)
Both diplomas at the HoHoKus School in Paterson are 900 clock hours and 54 quarter credits, over 36 weeks by day or 72 weeks in the evening. The electrician diploma splits into 418 classroom and 482 shop hours; graduates who pass the NJIECA first-year exam can enter as second-year apprentices, subject to NJIECA’s drug test, licence and interview requirements. For plumbers, the NJ PHCC credits the diploma as the first year of an apprenticeship. Neither diploma is a licence on its own.
HVACR Technology
HVACR is taught at Nutley as a diploma, which the program page puts at 12 months by day or evening, and the catalog and state training list also include an AAS. Students prepare for the EPA 608 and R-410A certifications and for HVAC Excellence employment-ready certificates. The NJPHCC recognizes graduates as second-year apprentices. One school article gives a longer evening schedule than the program page, so confirm the length when you apply.
Tuition and how students pay
Eastwick is a private school, so every student pays the same price regardless of where they live. The catalog’s tuition schedule could not be checked, and we found no 2026-27 price list. The most specific current figures are the program totals listed on New Jersey’s training provider list (undated), for one campus each:

Eastwick takes federal student aid, and its consumer information page links a net price calculator. Niche, using federal data, puts the average net price per year at $27,454 at Ramsey, $29,398 at Hackensack and $18,770 at Nutley. Programs on the state training provider list may be funded through New Jersey’s One-Stop Career Centers.
Admissions and schedules
Every program needs a high-school diploma or GED, an application form and a fee. Nursing programs add their own steps: an entrance exam, background check and health clearance for the LPN diploma, and an LPN licence and minimum LPN grades for the RN bridges. Eastwick uses quarter credits, and most programs run by day and in the evening, with evening schedules taking longer. At the HoHoKus School, diplomas take 24 to 36 weeks by day or 48 to 72 weeks in the evening.
Accreditation and results
Both schools are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Eastwick College is also accredited by MSCHE (granted 25 June 2026, retroactive to 16 November 2023) and licensed by the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education. The HoHoKus School is approved as a private career school by New Jersey, according to its catalog.

New Jersey’s minimum first-time NCLEX pass rate is 75%, so Ramsey’s AAS Nursing result for Jan–Sep 2025 sits exactly at the minimum and Hackensack’s just above it. The LPN-to-BSN rates come from small groups, especially at Hackensack. The Nutley nursing programs have no rows in the 2025 state reports. We found no published outcomes for the HoHoKus School.
Before you enroll
- Eastwick’s RN degrees are bridges. You need an LPN licence first; there is no entry-level RN track.
- RN bridge pass rates are close to the state floor: 75.0% at Ramsey and 76.5% at Hackensack in Jan–Sep 2025, against New Jersey’s 75% minimum.
- Nutley lists LPN and RN programs, but their New Jersey Board of Nursing approval was not confirmed and they have no rows in the Jan–Sep 2025 state NCLEX reports. Ask the school for the board’s approval before enrolling there.
- Funeral Service graduates passed the 2025 National Board Exam at well below national rates: 64% in Arts and 30% in Sciences.
- The Paterson campus is a different school, the HoHoKus School, with its own catalog, its own accreditation and a tuition schedule dated September 2022, still printed in its 2025-26 catalog. It teaches trade diplomas only.

The LPN diploma, the RN bridges, Medical Assisting, Patient Care Technician and the AAS in Health Science with Pharmacy Technician are taught at all three Eastwick campuses (nursing at Nutley pending confirmation of board approval). Business degrees and certificates are at Hackensack and Nutley. According to the catalog, a satellite site in Lakewood is used only for part of a business program for a study-abroad group and does not take general enrollment.
What students say
On Niche, Eastwick College’s Ramsey campus is rated 3.74 out of 5 from 156 reviews (checked 11 October 2026); the Hackensack and Nutley pages have too few reviews to summarize. Reviewers most often praise supportive instructors, hands-on health-care training and small classes. The most common complaints are cost, limited financial aid and payment flexibility and the refund policy, some weak professors, and little student life. One review says the school is not regionally accredited, which is out of date since the MSCHE decision in June 2026. The reviews describe Ramsey only, and we could not check whether they were invited by the school or posted in bursts.
