Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) was established in 1969 by the 104th Maine Legislature, with classes beginning in the fall of 1970. The college started small, with only 35 full-time and 131 part-time students. Since then, it has grown significantly and now serves approximately 2,500 students across its campuses in Fairfield, Augusta, and Rockland.
