Lansdale School of Business: a small nursing and business school in North Wales, PA
Lansdale School of Business is a private for-profit career school with one campus in North Wales, Pennsylvania, in the North Penn area outside Philadelphia. It opened on 1 April 1918 to train returning servicemen and is privately held. Despite the name, its largest program is Practical Nursing: 38 of the 54 awards it made in 2023-24 were in Practical Nursing. The other 16 were spread across business, accounting, office, paralegal, medical assisting, coding, network and system administration, and computer support programs, one to four awards each; the network administration and computer support programs are not in the 2026-27 price list.
The school is small, with 93 students in fall 2024. Its degrees are Associate in Specialized Business (A.S.B.) degrees.
Eleven programs, led by Practical Nursing
The 2026-27 price list has 11 programs: Practical Nursing, seven A.S.B. degree tracks and three diplomas. Lengths are full-time; part-time students take 40 months for a degree, 18 months for a 30-credit diploma and 25 months for a 42-credit diploma. Prices are for the North Wales campus.

The Billing and Coding Specialist diploma is listed at 42 credits in the 2026-27 price list, but its program page says 30 credits, so ask which applies. An Administrative Office Specialist diploma still appears on the school’s business page but is not in the 2026-27 price list.
What the main programs cover
Practical Nursing
The 1,500-clock-hour program prepares students for the NCLEX-PN licensing exam. The day schedule runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 3:30 and takes 12 months; the evening schedule runs Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 plus alternate Saturdays and takes 24 months. Clinicals take place at local medical facilities within about 25 miles of the school. Before starting, students need a physical exam, child-abuse and FBI clearances, and flu and TB vaccinations with titers from the last three years.
Allied Health – Medical Assistant
This 70-credit A.S.B. is the school’s clinical healthcare degree. Courses include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and pharmacology, and students learn to draw blood and run EKGs; the medical lab is on campus. Every student completes an externship before graduating; to start it, they need a 2.0 grade point average and a grade of C in their medical courses. The program page names no national certification exam and claims no programmatic accreditation, so ask which exams graduates take.
Billing, coding and medical office diplomas
The Billing and Coding Specialist diploma teaches the classification systems used for insurance reimbursement; its program page names no certification exam and mentions no externship. The price list bills it as 42 credits, which the catalog schedules over 18 months full-time or 25 months part-time. The 30-credit Medical Administrative Specialist diploma takes 12 months full-time or 18 months part-time. Both are credit-hour programs, so classes meet Monday to Thursday from 6:00 to 10:10 p.m., and the price list sets them at $16,800 and $12,850. Students who want a degree instead can take the Medical Office track of Office Operations Management.
Business, accounting and paralegal degrees
The A.S.B. degrees are 70 credits each, approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and are titled Business Administration with a specialty: Accounting/Management, Marketing/Management, Office Operations Management (Accounting Office, Medical Office or Word Processing Office) or Paralegal Studies. The catalog schedules them over 28 months full-time or 40 months part-time, with evening classes Monday to Thursday. The catalog says an internship or clinical rotation is required before graduation. The 30-credit Accounting Specialist diploma is the shorter route into accounting work.
2026-27 prices: $400 a credit, $29,500 for nursing
From September 2026, every credit program costs $400 per credit, with no in-state, out-of-state, day or evening tiers. Each 70-credit A.S.B. degree is $28,000 and the diplomas are $12,000 to $16,800, according to the 2026-27 tuition supplement. Practical Nursing has its own price of $29,500. Books add about $1,800 for a diploma and $3,900 to $5,100 for a degree or Practical Nursing.
Other charges are a $150 application fee, refundable within five days if the student attends no classes, and a one-time $100 graduation fee. Practical Nursing students pay $6 an hour to repeat coursework and $35 an hour for clinical make-up time, and every student pays their own licensing exam fees.
The school takes federal aid: in 2023-24, 56% of full-time first-time students received Pell Grants and 89% received federal loans. It is approved for GI Bill® benefits and for students funded by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Trade Act training, and it offers payment plans and works with employer tuition reimbursement.
Open admission, with evening classes for most programs
Admission is open to applicants with a high school diploma or GED. Applicants have an admissions interview and a career evaluation, take placement tests and sign an enrollment agreement. The school offers no English as a second language or remedial English courses. Practical Nursing applicants also need the health checks and clearances listed above.
Practical Nursing is the only program with a daytime schedule. All the credit programs meet on Monday to Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 10:10 p.m., and full-time means 16 to 20 credits a semester. Each semester is split into two sessions.
Accreditation and results
Lansdale School of Business has been accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) since 9 July 2018, with its next review due 30 July 2027; from 1967 to 2018 it was accredited by ACICS. The school is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education approves its A.S.B. degree, according to the 2026 catalog.
The Practical Nursing program held Full approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing in the board list of March 2025.

The 85% graduation rate counts only first-time, full-time students, who are 23% of entrants. The school’s own rates for the other programs mostly show 100% employment, but they rest on very small groups of graduates, and several programs show no reportable data.
Before you enroll
- Practical Nursing’s NCLEX-PN pass rate has been 97% to 98% for the last two exam years, but it was 77.27% in 2021-22, below Pennsylvania’s 80% minimum. The school reports that 57% of Practical Nursing students complete the program.
- The school’s licensure disclosure covers Pennsylvania only: it has determined whether Practical Nursing meets licensing requirements there and nowhere else. Students planning to work as LPNs in another state should check that state’s rules first.
- Except for Practical Nursing, classes meet only on weekday evenings, and we found no mention of online classes.
- ACCSC is a national accreditor of career schools. Other colleges decide for themselves whether to accept Lansdale credits, so ask any college you may transfer to before you enroll.
- The Medical Assistant and Billing and Coding programs name no certification exam, and the Paralegal Studies degree does not claim American Bar Association approval.
One campus, in North Wales
The school’s only confirmed campus is at 290 Wissahickon Avenue, North Wales, PA 19454. It is the only location named on the Practical Nursing approval and the only one College Navigator lists. The school has described a satellite location at the Phoenixville Education Center, opened in 2008, but we found no address for it, so ask the school whether any classes run there. There is no campus housing.
