A public CareerTech center for high-school students and adults
Mid-Del Technology Center is one of Oklahoma’s 29 CareerTech technology-center districts. It is a public school that teaches career programs to in-district high-school juniors and seniors, who attend free, and to adults, who pay tuition. Most full-time programs run in AM and PM half-day sessions shared with high-school students. It awards clock-hour certificates, not degrees.
This page covers the 15 full-time programs open to adults in 2026-27. Most run 960 hours, about one school year; Practical Nurse is 1,207 hours and Adult Only Cosmetology 1,250. One full-time program is for high-school students only: Aircraft Command Experience, which prepares students for the FAA private pilot knowledge test and the Part 107 remote pilot test, is not open to adults. Mid-Del also runs short evening and online courses through Adult Career Development, plus employer training in Del City and leadership training for military and civilian personnel at Tinker Air Force Base.
Full-time programs open to adults in 2026-27
All 15 programs are taught in person at the Midwest City campus. Hours and weeks come from the 2026-27 Oklahoma CareerTech program list; costs are the latest published adult figures, from federal IPEDS data for 2024-25.

Several programs are not what their names might suggest. Aircraft Structures & Heavy Maintenance trains for aircraft structures and sheet-metal work, and the school does not describe it as an FAA Part 147 airframe and powerplant program. Health Careers Certification leads to aide certifications rather than a medical-assistant credential. Medical Health Information Management is a medical office and billing program. A full-time electrical program, truck driving (CDL) and RN nursing are not offered; electrical training is a short Electrical Apprentice course.
What the main programs cover
Practical Nurse
Practical Nurse runs 1,207 hours over about 41 weeks on the 2026-27 state list, second only to Adult Only Cosmetology (1,250 hours) and well above the 960 hours of most other programs. It prepares students for the NCLEX-PN, the licensing exam for licensed practical nurses, and the Oklahoma Board of Nursing publishes the program’s first-time results each year (see below). The program held ACEN accreditation from 1995 to 2008 and has no programmatic accreditation now. Ask the school about entrance testing, background checks and the clinical schedule before applying.
Health Careers Certification
This 600-hour program runs about 24 weeks. MetroFamily Magazine’s listing for Mid-Del describes it as a route to three certifications: long-term-care nurse aide (LTCNA), home health aide (HHA) and medication aide (RMA). Federal data file its completers under medical and clinical assisting, with six in 2023-24, but the school presents it as an aide program, not medical-assistant training. Adults who want only the nurse-aide certification can look at the separate short LTCNA course in Adult Career Development.
Cosmetology
Adult Only Cosmetology is 1,250 hours over about 47 weeks on the 2026-27 state list. It prepares students for the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering licensing exam, and the campus offers salon services. Federal data for 2024-25 still listed the program at 1,500 hours, so confirm the current hours before enrolling. A separate 600-hour Cosmetology Master Instructor program prepares for the Oklahoma instructor licence.
Aircraft Structures & Heavy Maintenance
The state lists this 960-hour program as Aerospace Maintenance Foundations Technician. It covers aircraft structures and sheet-metal work for heavy aircraft maintenance, and federal data counted eight completers in 2023-24 under aircraft maintenance. The school does not describe it as an FAA Part 147 program, the kind of school that prepares students for the FAA airframe and powerplant mechanic exams. Students aiming for that licence should ask how the hours would count, and check with local employers whether the certificate meets their hiring requirements.
Cyber Security Professional
Cyber Security Professional is a 960-hour certificate, listed by the state as Cybersecurity – Advanced, and had 14 completers in 2023-24. Mid-Del has an agreement with Rose State College: completers receive 15 credit hours toward Rose State’s Networking/Cybersecurity associate degree, which shortens the path to a degree for students who want one. It is the only articulation agreement with a college that we found for a Mid-Del program, so credit for other programs should not be assumed.
Cost and paying for it
In-district high-school juniors and seniors attend Mid-Del’s full-time programs free. Adults pay tuition. We could not find Mid-Del’s 2026-27 adult tuition when we checked in October 2026, so the latest figures we found are the 2024-25 adult costs the school reported to the federal government, shown on College Navigator. Ask the school whether adults who live outside the district pay a different rate.

Mid-Del takes federal student aid (OPE ID 03198400), but in practice that means Pell grants: no federal student loans were awarded in 2022-23. Among full-time first-time students, 61% received a Pell grant, averaging $5,111, and 26% received state or local grants, averaging $583.
Admissions and schedule
Admission is open overall (IPEDS); ask about Practical Nurse entrance requirements. Full-time programs run Monday to Friday from August to May, in morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) half-day sessions that adults share with high-school students. Start and end times differ by program, so check the schedule for the program you want. Adults apply through the Full-Time Program Enrollment link on the school’s website.
Accreditation and results
Mid-Del is accredited by the Oklahoma Board of Career and Technology Education, the state CareerTech board, and has been since 1979. The board continued its full postsecondary accreditation on 23 March 2023, for up to five years, and the next onsite evaluation is scheduled for 2027-28, according to CareerTech’s accreditation letter of 14 May 2026. Mid-Del is not accredited by the Council on Occupational Education.

The 2025 rate is slightly below the state and national averages, and with 13 candidates one or two results move it by several points.
Federal IPEDS data show 372 students in fall 2023, 20% of them full-time. Of full-time, first-time students who started in 2020-21, 65% graduated within 150% of normal program time. Retention from fall 2022 to fall 2023 was 81% for full-time students and 63% for part-time students. We found no published job-placement rate.
Before you enroll
- Get the 2026-27 adult price in writing. The newest dated figures we found are IPEDS 2024-25; we found no figure at all for Practical Nurse, plumbing, masonry or the health programs, and only an older, undated one for welding.
- Mid-Del awards clock-hour certificates, not degrees, and is not accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. Apart from the Rose State agreement for Cyber Security Professional, do not count on college credit for your hours.
- No federal student loans were awarded in 2022-23; Pell grants are the main federal aid.
- Mid-Del does not describe Aircraft Structures & Heavy Maintenance as an FAA Part 147 airframe and powerplant program, and Health Careers Certification is an aide program, not medical-assistant training.
- Classes are half-day sessions on an August-to-May calendar, in sessions shared with high-school students.
One campus in Midwest City, plus two training centers
All full-time programs are taught at the main campus, 1621 Maple Dr, Midwest City, OK 73110, phone (405) 739-1707. Midwest City is an Oklahoma City suburb. Mid-Del’s Business Development & Training center at 3921 SE 29th St. in Del City offers customized training, business development and consultation for employers, not full-time programs. The Tinker Training Center on Tinker Air Force Base began training government workers at Tinker in 1969 and offers leadership training for military and civilian personnel; the base has restricted access, so it is not a campus for the public.
Housing and career help
Mid-Del has no student housing; it is a commuter school. The main campus has a Testing Center and career guidance services. The Rose State College agreement for Cyber Security Professional is the only formal route into a college degree that we found.
