POLYTECH Adult Education has a rich history dating back to 1964. Back then, it was known as Kent County Vocational-Technical Center, focusing on teaching skills for construction, manufacturing, and farming. As times changed, so did the school. In 1991, it became the Polytech School District, growing into a full-fledged technical high school with a separate adult education program.
While it’s not part of the state’s community college system, Polytech High School now teaches over 1,100 students in grades 9-12 every year. They offer training in 21 different technical fields. The adult education program helps more than 2,000 people each year, including kids, parents, and adult learners.
