About Remington College
Remington College is a nonprofit career college. Its 10 teaching campuses are in Mobile, Alabama; Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Shreveport, Louisiana; Maple Heights (Cleveland), Ohio; Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee; and Dallas, North Richland Hills (Fort Worth) and League City (Houston), Texas. An online division, run from the Dallas campus, teaches IT, creative, management and bachelor’s completion programs. Each campus is separately accredited by ACCSC, with Dallas as the main campus.
The campus list has changed in recent years. The Knoxville, Tennessee and Columbia, South Carolina campuses have closed, and Remington now lists a single Houston-area campus in League City instead of Greenspoint and Webster. Dallas moved from Garland to the LBJ Freeway in about 2022, Lafayette moved in 2021 and Cleveland (now Maple Heights) by early 2025, and the Fort Worth and Mobile campuses are at new addresses.

Each campus teaches its own mix of programs, so a program offered at one Remington campus is often not offered at the next. Lengths below are Remington’s “as few as” figures from its program pages; tuition is program-total tuition from the 2026 campus catalogs, with the campus and catalog date.

The two Medical Assisting with X-Ray Technician programs train limited-scope X-ray operators. The Texas Medical Board approves the Dallas program as Non-Certified Technician training; it is not a radiologic technologist program. Prices change, so check the current catalog for your campus before you rely on them.
What the main programs cover
Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
The HVAC curriculum works through how heating and cooling systems are built and repaired: evaporators, compressors, condensers and expansion devices, residential and light-commercial heating, refrigeration and freezer equipment, domestic air-conditioning appliances, and indoor air quality standards. Students prepare for all four levels of the EPA Section 608 refrigerant certification (Type I, II, III and Universal). Mobile, Lafayette, Dallas and Fort Worth add an associate degree, and Fort Worth’s diploma is a refrigeration version “with Smart Technology”. Ask each campus for the program length, clock hours and schedule.
Construction & Building Maintenance
This diploma, of as few as 9 months, prepares students to keep buildings running rather than to build them. Courses cover electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry and finishing, small power equipment and appliance repair, OSHA safety and LEED (green building) principles. Remington lists facility maintenance technician, building maintenance technician and general maintenance technician as the target jobs and names no certification exam. Memphis and Nashville offer a longer CBM Technology associate (AOS). It is taught at eight of the ten campuses, everywhere except Mobile and Houston.
Combination Welding
Taught only at the Cleveland campus in Maple Heights, Ohio, this diploma takes as few as 8 months. It starts with construction-trades safety and welding fundamentals and moves on to structural welding in four processes: shielded metal arc (stick, SMAW), gas metal arc (MIG, GMAW), gas tungsten arc (TIG, GTAW) and flux-cored arc (FCAW). Tuition includes the student’s first attempt at the American Welding Society’s Certified Welder test.
Medical Assisting
The diploma, of as few as 9 months, combines clinical and administrative training: health science procedures, anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, pharmacology, medical terminology, and medical insurance, billing and coding. Remington’s program page doesn’t say whether an externship is included or which certification exam graduates can sit, so ask. Fort Worth and Shreveport also offer an associate degree. At the three Texas campuses and Mobile, students can choose Medical Assisting with X-Ray Technician, which adds limited-scope X-ray training.
Patient Care Technician
Taught only at Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, this diploma takes as few as 8 months. It starts with an introduction to health care and the PCT role, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology, then trains students in electrocardiography (EKG), phlebotomy and rehabilitative care. Remington lists patient care technician, nursing assistant, nurse aide, mental health technician and phlebotomist among graduates’ jobs, but names no certification exam. Phlebotomy and EKG are parts of this program; Remington has no standalone phlebotomy or EKG program.
Dental Hygiene
Remington’s only programmatically accredited dental program is the CODA-accredited associate degree in Dental Hygiene at Nashville, which takes about 24 months. Courses cover dental hygiene theory and clinical practice, oral pathology, pain and anxiety control, community dental health, oral radiology, dental materials and head and neck anatomy. Graduates take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, with the first attempt included in tuition, plus a state or regional clinical exam. Graduates can continue to a bachelor’s completion degree in dental hygiene at Nashville.
Cost and paying for it
Remington publishes program-total tuition in a catalog addendum for each campus, and prices differ by campus. In the 2026 catalogs, most diplomas cost about $9,500 to $23,900: Medical Office Administration $9,500 at Nashville, Patient Care Technician and Laboratory Assistant $9,975, Construction & Building Maintenance $16,795 at Dallas, Medical Assisting $17,519 at most campuses, and HVAC from $16,800 at Mobile to $23,500 at Dallas and Lafayette. Associate degrees run from about $15,200 (Business Administration at Nashville) to $56,873 (Dental Hygiene at Nashville), and the Gaming Design & Esports Management bachelor’s at Dallas is $58,580. Some programs add kit fees, such as $535 for building maintenance. The catalogs we read don’t make clear whether books and fees are included. Federal data on Niche put the average net price, after grants, at about $23,700 a year at Cleveland to $30,100 at Shreveport.
Remington takes part in federal student aid, and its official FY2022 three-year cohort default rate was 0.0%. Its named scholarships are the Academic Achievement (merit), New Career Success (need-based), Career Ready (for first responders, law enforcement, military members, reservists and other public employees) and Invitation Homes scholarships, and the catalogs list Bridging the Gap, Michael Seltzer and Vantage awards; Remington publishes no amounts. Its financial-aid page does not mention the GI Bill or Yellow Ribbon, so veterans should confirm VA approval for their program and campus before enrolling. Admissions
Applicants sign an application and enrollment agreement, show proof of high school graduation or an equivalent such as the GED before enrolling, and complete Remington’s Career Path Assessment and Online Risk Profile. Health programs have vaccination requirements. The bachelor’s completion programs in criminal justice, organizational management and dental hygiene require a prior associate degree; for criminal justice, one with at least 90 quarter credits. Ask the campus for start dates and class times for the program you want.
Accreditation and results
Every Remington campus is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), each under its own school number, with routine renewals in 2023–2025 (Dallas in March 2023, Memphis in May 2024 after meeting stipulations, Maple Heights in February 2025) and no probation or warning in ACCSC’s public notices. The Dental Hygiene associate is CODA-accredited, and the Lafayette pharmacy technician programs are ASHP/ACPE-accredited.
Remington publishes ACCSC graduation and employment rates for each campus. For the Dallas campus (published June 2026; start dates vary by program):

At Nashville, reported graduation rates range from 87% in Dental Assisting (39 of 45) and Dental Hygiene (26 of 30) down to 57% in Patient Care Technician (16 of 28) and 47% in Business Administration (7 of 15). On licensing exams, 23 of 26 Nashville dental hygiene test takers from the 2021–22 cohort passed the national board and CITA exams (88%), and all 9 Mobile cosmetology graduates tested from the 2022–23 cohort passed Alabama’s written and practical exams. Federal graduation rates shown on Niche, which use a different measure, run from 33% at Shreveport to 55% at Cleveland.
Complaints raised by veterans’ advocates
In January 2024, the advocacy group Veterans Education Success wrote to ACCSC about complaints it had received from student veterans at the Dallas, Shreveport and Nashville campuses. The complaints alleged that criminal justice credentials were not accepted by local law-enforcement agencies, that a recruiter claimed 90% of students found work in their field within 6 to 10 months, that loan documents were signed without explanation, and that one student’s attendance was misreported to the VA. The group asked ACCSC for an independent audit before renewing Remington’s accreditation. These are allegations. We found no public ACCSC action in response; its later notices show only routine renewals.
Before you enroll
- Check that your campus teaches your program. Welding is taught only at Cleveland, electrician only at Fort Worth, cosmetology only at Mobile and dental hygiene only at Nashville, and Memphis and Baton Rouge don’t teach medical assisting.
- Medical Assisting with X-Ray Technician trains limited-scope X-ray operators. It is not a radiologic technologist program.
- The criminal justice program is a bachelor’s completion degree that needs a prior associate degree, and a veterans’ group has reported complaints from student veterans that local agencies did not accept the credential.
- Prices vary by campus for the same program: in 2026 catalogs, HVAC diploma tuition ranged from $16,800 at Mobile to $23,500 at Dallas and Lafayette.
- Older listings may show campuses in Knoxville, Columbia (SC), Greenspoint or Webster, or old addresses in Garland and Fort Worth; none of these is current. Shreveport’s Paralegal program is not enrolling, and its pharmacy technician program’s status is unclear.
What students say
Five Remington campus pages on Niche have 25 or more reviews, 287 in all, with an average of about 4.2 out of 5 weighted by review count (checked October 2026): Dallas 4.36 (154 reviews), Fort Worth 4.51 (37), Cleveland 3.62 (34), Mobile 4.06 (32) and Nashville 3.87 (30). Niche’s overall grades for these campuses are C− or D+. Dallas has far more reviews than any other campus, possibly because it includes online students.
- Praised: small classes and instructors who know students by name, hands-on training and externships, morning, afternoon and evening class options, and helpful admissions and financial-aid staff.
- Criticized: billing errors, including double charges that were not fixed, students who misunderstood what accreditation their credential carried, online coursework that was weak or not explained up front, and uneven instructor quality.
