Southwest University at El Paso began its journey in June 1999 as the Quick Study Learning Center, a private institution focused on helping students with English as a second language and GED preparation. The school expanded its mission in 2009 when it became Southwest University at El Paso and introduced an Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

By 2012, the institution had grown into a full university, adding Bachelor’s programs in Business and Health Administration. Today, the university serves around 1,817 undergraduate students each academic year, providing career-focused education to the El Paso community.
