Temple College was established in 1926 to meet the higher education needs of the Temple community, following concerted efforts from local civic, business, and educational leaders.
Initially, the college conducted classes in the basement of the old Temple High School. Due to increasing enrollment, it relocated in 1957 to its current position in South Temple.
Today, the non-profit Temple College campus spans over 108 acres and includes 27 buildings. Besides the main campus, the college maintains additional sites, including the Texas Bioscience Institute and EWCHEC locations in Hutto and Taylor.
