Advanced Technology Institute
Virginia Beach is ATI’s main campus, on Southern Boulevard, where technical training has run since 1975. It teaches every trade program: the Automotive, Heavy Vehicle (diesel), Air Conditioning & Heating, Maritime Welding and Industrial Maintenance diplomas, the Electrical Systems Technology certificate and the Trades Leadership associate degree. The campus is an AWS Certified Test Facility and an ESCO, NATE and EPA testing site, so welding and HVAC students can test here. Students from more than 50 miles away can apply for school apartments 0.5 to 8 miles from campus.

Bryant & Stratton College
The Virginia Beach campus, on Centre Pointe Drive, teaches the associate degree in nursing; the school says its 2024 graduates passed the NCLEX-RN at 97.67% on the first try, up from 68.2% in 2019, a figure we could not check with the state board. Its practical nursing program has been an ACEN candidate since April 2025. It also teaches medical assisting, medical billing and coding, early childhood education, paralegal studies and hospitality management.

ECPI University
ECPI University’s main campus, at 5555 Greenwich Road, houses its technology, business and criminal justice programs. It teaches cybersecurity, cloud, software development, UX/web and AI/ML and data analytics degrees and an MS in Cybersecurity, plus CADD, ESET, mechanical engineering technology and mechatronics; the ESET and mechanical engineering technology bachelor’s are ABET-accredited here. Accounting, management, supply chain, an MBA, criminal justice, digital forensics and homeland security are also taught here. Nursing and health science are at 5501 Greenwich Road.
ECPI’s Nursing & Health Science site in Virginia Beach, at 5501 Greenwich Road, teaches practical nursing, the ADN and a CCNE-accredited BSN, plus dental assisting, medical assisting and healthcare administration. It is also home to ECPI’s only physician assistant program, a 24-month master’s with ARC-PA Accreditation-Provisional status. ECPI reports 2025 first-time NCLEX pass rates for Virginia Beach of 96.3% (PN), 82.41% (ADN) and 94.12% (BSN). ECPI’s 2023 catalog branded this site Medical Careers Institute.

Empire Beauty Schools
The Virginia Beach campus, on South Independence Boulevard, teaches 1,000-hour cosmetology, listed at $16,615 in total (September 2026). Its 2024 NACCAS rates were 48.03% graduation, 65.38% placement and 81.82% licensure. For esthetics, Virginia students need Empire’s Richmond campus.

Paul Mitchell Schools
Rudy & Kelly Academy, a Paul Mitchell Partner School on Centerville Turnpike, teaches 1,000-hour cosmetology, a 1,200-hour dual barber/master barber program and a 185-hour nail care course. It is operated by R.A.M.J. L.L.C. and is one of two Virginia schools on Paul Mitchell’s locator, with Roanoke.

Strayer University
The Virginia Beach campus on Central Park Avenue is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It is Strayer’s only Hampton Roads campus: the Newport News web page now loads the Virginia Beach page, and Chesapeake is no longer in the catalog. Programs are online, with select courses and advising here.

Tidewater Community College
Virginia Beach is TCC’s largest campus, with 13 buildings including the Regional Health Professions Center and the Advanced Technology Center, shared with Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Nearly every health program is taught here: radiography, respiratory therapy, sonography, medical laboratory technology, PTA, OTA, surgical technology, practical nursing, phlebotomy, nurse aide, EMS and health information management. It is also the campus for veterinary technology, funeral service, hospitality, ABA-approved paralegal studies, fire science, engineering technology and most information systems degrees.

Tidewater Medical Training
The Southside campus is in Suite 102 at 1300 Diamond Springs Road, near Northampton Boulevard and the Norfolk line, on Hampton Roads Transit Route 27. The school’s Southside admissions page is aimed at students from Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Suffolk. It teaches the same in-person and hybrid courses as Hampton, including six day and three evening nurse aide starts in 2027; its day phlebotomy section runs about nine weeks instead of six. Sections are scheduled here through January 2028.

Advanced Technology Institute
ATI’s Norfolk location on Scott Street is used only for Commercial Driving. It prepares students for the Class A CDL in a 216-hour certificate taken over 6 or 12 weeks, with day, evening and weekend classes. The 10,000-square-foot site has two classrooms, a break room and a large shop area and is about 6 miles from the Virginia Beach main campus, where all other ATI programs are taught. ATI’s truck-driving training is licensed by the Virginia DMV.

Aviation Institute of Maintenance
AIM Norfolk is the school’s original city: founder Jerry Yagen started the business that became AIM here in 1969. The campus covers 70,000 square feet on 11 acres with two hangars and teaches the Aviation Maintenance Technician (A&P) certificate and the PAMC exam-prep course on day or evening shifts. Its 88% employment rate for available A&P graduates (2021–22 starts) was the highest of any AIM campus’s A&P certificate in the 2025 accreditor report.

Centura College
Centura’s Norfolk campus on North Military Highway teaches Construction Electrician and is the only Centura campus with the 15-week Electrical Lineworker Certificate, whose first class started in January 2026. Centura’s medical assistant program pages list Norfolk, but the Norfolk campus page does not, so confirm before planning on medical assisting here. In Centura’s 2026 ACCSC disclosure, 49% of Norfolk’s 2023-24 Medical Assistant starters graduated, lower than at the other two campuses.

ECPI University
The Culinary Institute of Virginia, ECPI’s culinary college, is on Almeda Avenue in Norfolk and is part of ECPI’s Virginia Beach campus. It teaches an 8-month Culinary Arts diploma and a 9-month Baking & Pastry diploma, associate degrees in culinary arts, baking and pastry and culinary nutrition, and a Food Service Management bachelor’s. It is the only ECPI site where the culinary arts associate is accredited by the American Culinary Federation. Older descriptions call these diplomas certificates.

Fortis College & Fortis Institute
Fortis College Norfolk, on Center Drive, is accredited by ABHES. It enrolls students in practical nursing, medical assisting and dental assisting. Its associate degree in nursing has taken no new students since 18 November 2025, and Virginia’s approval is withdrawn from 31 October 2027 after a teach-out; 59.4% of its ADN graduates passed the NCLEX-RN first time in 2025. ABHES has continued a program-specific warning on practical nursing.

Tidewater Community College
TCC’s Norfolk Campus, on Granby Street, is home to Culinary Arts, the college’s ACF-accredited cooking degree with catering, classical cooking and kitchen management certificates. The Visual Arts and Design Center in the Martin and Roper buildings teaches Graphic Design and has housed TCC’s visual arts since the Portsmouth center closed in 2021. Human Services, Personal Training and Fitness, Criminal Justice, Management and Early Childhood Development are also taught here, and the campus includes the Roper Performing Arts Center.

Arizona College of Nursing
The Chesapeake campus on Belaire Avenue serves Hampton Roads and holds initial approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing. Its first BSN class graduated in April 2026, so no placement or NCLEX-RN results are published yet. Tuition is $915 per credit, or $109,800 for 120 credits (2026–27), the highest of the three Virginia campuses.

Centura College
Centura’s Chesapeake campus occupies two adjoining buildings of about 27,000 square feet on Greenbrier Parkway. It is the only Centura campus for the Professional and Master Esthetician diplomas and the Associate of Occupational Science in Medical Assisting, and it also teaches the Medical Assistant Diploma and the version with limited-scope X-ray. The online Bachelor of Science in Business is run from here. The campus has a Career Services center, and Centura’s financial aid guide lists Yellow Ribbon for Chesapeake.

Tidewater Community College
The Chesapeake Campus is TCC’s center for electrical and industrial trades: Electrical Technology in all five AAS specializations and its wiring, cabling and renewable-energy certificates, Mechatronics, CNC and basic machining, and the Maritime Technologies shipyard programs, including the Inside Machinist and Marine Electrical certificates that are taught only here. It is also the only campus for Interior Design, Horticulture and landscape management, and the American Sign Language interpreter degree. Cyber Security, Accounting, Management and Early Childhood Development are taught here too.
The Regional Automotive Center is part of TCC’s Chesapeake Campus but has its own building and address: 30,000 square feet with 15 labs. Every automotive and engine program is taught here: the Automotive Technology AAS with Ford, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler and Subaru training, Medium/Heavy Truck diesel, evening Collision Repair, and the Diesel Marine and Marine Gasoline Engine programs, which make it an ABYC Marine League School. Students can take paid internships with employers while they study.
