Aveda Institutes

Aveda Arts Atlanta, on Peachtree Street NE, teaches 1,500-hour cosmetology and instructor training; unlike most Aveda schools, it lists no esthiology. Cosmetology totalled $23,600 for the 13 October 2026 start, and classes run Monday to Wednesday, 9 to 8, with no Saturday classes. The school reported 83.9% placement and 93.9% licensure for 2024.

Aviation Institute of Maintenance

AIM’s Atlanta Metro campus in Duluth is its broadest: the A&P certificate, an Associate of Occupational Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology (offered only here), the Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer program, PAMC, and AIM’s only Combination Welding program. The 112,000-square-foot building has 30 classrooms and a hangar with an indoor engine test cell and a King Air 65. It also had AIM’s largest A&P cohort in the 2025 accreditor report (392 starts).

Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology

Cambridge’s Atlanta campus sits on the St. Joseph’s Hospital grounds and is the college’s only Georgia campus. It teaches the Associate of Science in Nursing (Georgia Board of Nursing conditional approval, May 2026 list), sonography, radiologic technology, radiation therapy, medical assistant and phlebotomy, and it is the only campus for the Medical Laboratory Technician degree, which holds NAACLS serious-applicant status, not accreditation. The Nursing Assistant program here is listed as inactive. Cambridge’s online programs are run from this campus. In 2024–25, 88% of Atlanta radiologic technology graduates earned the credential.

ECPI University

ECPI’s Atlanta campus, on Towercreek Parkway SE in the Cobb County part of the Atlanta area, is ECPI’s first in Georgia; it does not appear in the 2024 or 2025 catalog campus lists. It teaches technology only: a bachelor’s in Cyber and Information Security Technology and associate degrees in electronics engineering technology and mechatronics. There are no nursing, health, business or criminal justice programs here.

Empire Beauty Schools

The Atlanta-Northlake campus is in Briarcliff Village on Henderson Mill Road. It is the only Georgia Empire campus without educator training and teaches 1,500-hour cosmetology alone, at $22,355 (September 2026). Its 2024 NACCAS licensure rate, 52.63%, was the lowest of any Empire campus; graduation was 46.84% and placement 66.67%.

Fortis College & Fortis Institute

Fortis College Smyrna, in the Atlanta area, on South Cobb Drive, was formerly Medix College. It teaches a dental hygiene associate degree accredited by CODA, a radiologic technology AAS, and diplomas in dental assisting, medical assisting, HVAC-R and welding. It is accredited by ABHES and says VA educational benefits are available. It does not teach nursing.

Genesis Career College

Georgia Plumbing Institute

Classes run in person on weekends only, meeting Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Master-level students staying until 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Each course runs for five weekends in Marietta, and there are no online, hybrid, or externship components. Tuition is $1,000 for the review course plus about $230 for required code books, and the school does not offer a net price calculator.

Lincoln College of Technology Marietta teaches electrical, HVAC and medical assisting, and is one of two Lincoln campuses with the Medical Assistant Technology program. Students looking for automotive or welding in metro Atlanta should look at the newer East Point campus instead.

Mechanical Trades Institute

Mechanical Trades Institute – Local 72 Training Center (MTI-72) runs a five-year registered apprenticeship that trains students in Plumbing, Pipefitting, Pipe Welding, and HVACR. The program follows an earn-while-you-learn structure, so apprentices work for Mechanical Industries Council contractors during the day while they complete training. Total training exceeds 10,000 hours, including more than 1,100 classroom hours and about 8,500 on-the-job hours. Instruction uses a hybrid mix of online lessons, classroom sessions, shop training, and field-based learning, and hands-on jobsite work continues throughout the full apprenticeship instead of a short externship. Apprentices receive classroom instruction plus real job experience alongside service professionals, so training schedules depend on work assignments. DIY video content is available 24/7, and apprentices do not need externships because they already train on the job. Roadmaster’s Atlanta location moved in late 2025 from Blairs Bridge Road in Lithia Springs to Mendel Court SW. The school announced the $1.1 million relocation and renovation in January 2026. It teaches the full-time Class A CDL course, about four weeks of weekday classes from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

SAE Institute

SAE Institute Atlanta, at the corner of Peachtree Street and Andrew Young International Blvd, teaches audio and entertainment business (diploma or AAS) and is the only SAE campus in the US with the AAS in Digital Film. It has five studios and four production suites. Associate degrees here run 19 months rather than 16. ACCSC placed the campus on Warning in February 2026, citing graduation and employment rates. Students with financial need in the audio diploma can apply for a scholarship of up to $1,500.

South College

The Atlanta campus teaches practical nursing, ASN and BSN nursing, medical assisting, surgical technology (accredited December 2024), sonography, physical therapist assistant (full CAPTE accreditation December 2025) and the physician assistant master’s as an extension of the Knoxville program, plus DPT, OTD and respiratory therapy. Its radiography program is on JRCERT probation, maintained in March 2026; its 2021-2025 ARRT first-attempt pass rate was 71%, below the 75% standard, and compliance is due by June 2027. HOPE and Zell Miller awards have applied here since December 2025.

South College’s newest Georgia campus was announced in December 2024, opened in 2025 and graduated its first students in June 2026. It teaches practical nursing and the ASN (both ACEN candidates), surgical technology and radiography (both seeking accreditation) and sonography, which added two concentrations in August 2026. Georgia HOPE, Zell Miller and GTEG awards apply here, as does a South College Promise Grant.

Southern Crescent Technical College

The Fayette County Center in Peachtree City shares a building with the Fayette County Public Schools Center of Innovation, the former J.C. Booth Middle School. It is the only site for the Civil Engineering Technology AAS, a technician-level degree in drafting, surveying and materials testing. It also hosts the LPN/Paramedic Bridge to RN, EMT, Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy, a small unmanned aircraft (drone) certificate and the Aviation Welding Fundamentals certificate.

Strayer University

The Atlanta campus moved to Peachtree Street NE; Middle States approved the relocation from Flowers Road South in Chamblee on 26 February 2026. It is open Monday to Friday. Besides advising and select courses for Strayer’s online students, it hosts the Media Design School at Strayer’s MFA in Screen Scoring and Music Design, the one graduate program Strayer delivers in Georgia rather than online ($585 per credit hour, 2026–27).

Universal Technical Institute

UTI Atlanta, in Smyrna northwest of the city, opened on 7 August 2026 as UTI’s first campus in Georgia. It offers Automotive, Aviation, Diesel, Electrical, HVACR, Industrial Maintenance, Robotics & Automation and Welding programs.
